YouthBuild Cape Girardeau is not a traditional school or job placement agency. Instead, it empowers disengaged youth aged 16-24 through education and vocational training, meeting the demand for a diverse workforce.

YouthBuild is a 6-month training program followed by 12-months of follow-up and case management.

Funded by the Department of Labor.

Along with receiving their HiSET diploma, there are 3 career pathways...

Construction
- Students gain practical, real-world construction skills through hands-on learning in areas such as carpentry, framing, drywall, painting, and basic home repair. OSHA and NCCER certifications are also provided as part of this pathway.
Drone/GIS Technology
- Students learn drone operation, safety procedures, flight planning, and practical piloting skills through experiential learning. Certifications and training in drone piloting, GIS and remote sensing, soldering, CAD, and 3D design are also provided as part of this pathway.
Culinary
- Students gain practical experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and meal presentation. Restaurant industry credentials and certifications, including Restaurant Ready, ServSafe Food Handler, and Culinary Foundational Techniques, are also provided as part of this pathway.
